Corrections and evidence
Use the subject line Correction — [article or page title]. Please include:
- The complete URL and the exact statement you believe is inaccurate.
- Your proposed correction and the reason for it.
- Supporting documents or primary-source links, with relevant dates.
- Your name, connection to the subject and a reply address.
We assess the evidence and the material effect of any error. Disagreement with an opinion is different from a factual correction. Our Corrections Policy explains how substantive changes are disclosed.
Story ideas and source material
Explain what happened, where and when it occurred, who is involved and why international readers should understand it. Identify whether you witnessed the event, represent an organization or have a financial or personal interest in the subject.
Send links or copies you are entitled to share. Please avoid sending passwords, payment credentials, identity documents or other sensitive personal records unless a specific need and appropriate handling arrangements have first been agreed.
If you seek confidential treatment, discuss that request before transmitting sensitive material. Ordinary email and WhatsApp should not be assumed to provide a secure investigative submission system. Sending a message does not automatically establish an agreement to withhold your identity.
